In this tutorial we will be managing links in our WordPress blog. Links are shown in the sidebar.
- Search by clicking Links.
- First let's delete a couple links we no longer want. All we need to do is select them and choose Delete from the dropdown menu.
- Now let's add a new link.
- Enter a name for the link. This is used as the anchor text for your link.
- Then enter the location of the site.
- Then enter a description. This is shown on hover.
- Then add the link to a category. If you want to add a new category you can do that without leaving the item.
- Then you can set the target for your link. We will set this one to open in a new window.
- Then you can set the relationship of the link. This is a simple way to show the relationship of the site owner to you. More details on XFN can be found at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/XHTML_Friends_Network
- You can set a few advanced settings as well.
- When you've got the link setup click the Add Link button.
- Our new link has been setup.
