In this tutorial we will be using the DirectAdmin file manager.

  • Begin by clicking on the File Manager link.
  • The first thing we will do is navigate into the public_html folder. This is where all of the files you can see from the internet are stored.
  • Let’s create a new folder to work with.
  • Our new folder has been created.
  • Let’s change the permissions on the folder.
  • Enter the permissions you want for the folder.
  • The permissions have been changed.
  • Now let’s navigate into the folder.
  • Let’s upload a file.
  • Browse to find the file on your local computer.
  • Select the file to upload and click Open.
  • Then click Upload Files.
  • The file has been uploaded. Let’s go back to the file manager.
  • Let’s rename the file.
  • Enter the new name and click Rename.
  • The rename was successful.
  • Now let’s copy the file to the public_html folder. We’ll add the file to our clipboard.
  • Now let’s go up a level to the public_html folder.
  • Then copy the file from our clipboard to this folder.

If you have any files with the same name as a file in the clipboard it will be overwritten.

  • The file has been copied.
  • Now let’s delete the file.
  • The file has been deleted.
