In this tutorial we will be using the DirectAdmin file manager.
- Begin by clicking on the File Manager link.
- The first thing we will do is navigate into the public_html folder. This is where all of the files you can see from the internet are stored.
- Let’s create a new folder to work with.
- Our new folder has been created.
- Let’s change the permissions on the folder.
- Enter the permissions you want for the folder.
- The permissions have been changed.
- Now let’s navigate into the folder.
- Let’s upload a file.
- Browse to find the file on your local computer.
- Select the file to upload and click Open.
- Then click Upload Files.
- The file has been uploaded. Let’s go back to the file manager.
- Let’s rename the file.
- Enter the new name and click Rename.
- The rename was successful.
- Now let’s copy the file to the public_html folder. We’ll add the file to our clipboard.
- Now let’s go up a level to the public_html folder.
- Then copy the file from our clipboard to this folder.
If you have any files with the same name as a file in the clipboard it will be overwritten.
- The file has been copied.
- Now let’s delete the file.
- The file has been deleted.
